180 days are more than sufficient for not only single group but also for both. However If you are only preparing for group 2 than you may prefer following strategy.
1. COSTING : Costing is the only numerical subject in group 2. The Operation Research part of Costing is easy in compare to the other decision making part. So prepare it well. Linear programming and Transportation are tricky chapters in OR, so practice both of the chapters as much as you can.
In the other part of costing, decision making and relevant costing are the typical phase of the costing. Make their concept clear. After it you may prefer modern concepts like ABC etc. Standard costing seems lengthy but if you properly read the derivation of the formulas, you have no need to learn them.
2. ISCA : One of the most easy subjects of group 2. Best part of ISCA is that it does not have vast syllabus. Make charts of major chapters like Information system classification. Controls, Regulatory issues. Give least preference to Corporate Governance's chapter.
Summarize each chapter in your own words with acronyms.Do not forget chart study.
3. DT: Direct Taxes have a long lasting syllabus. To cover it properly give preference to Assessment Procedure and PGBP. Draw them in flow chart or charts to remember the sections and clauses. For e.g.
4. IDT : In case of IDT you have to give your 80% attention to Sevice Tax, CCR Rules, Valuation in all the three taxes. Give less preference to procedure part of Indirect Taxes.
